I first met Tom in one of my classes at Lawrence Tech in the Industrial Management program. Tom had an outgoing personality and was a member of Kappa Phi Sigma (KPS) Fraternity. Our friendship grew and Tom suggested that I consider becoming a member of the fraternity. As a member of KPS, he served as the Recording Secretary, Parliamentarian, and Corresponding Secretary. Tom was also a member of the Student Council and Homecoming Committee. In addition, he participated in many other campus activities such as Glee Club, Society for the Advancement of Management, and Intramural Bowling. Tom enjoyed working on the Tech News and the L-Book. In June 1962, Tom graduated Lawrence Tech and began his career at General Motors where he worked for more than 30 years. During this time, he married Mary and had two daughters. Tom passed away at the age of 82 on July 24, 2021. I will always treasure his outgoing personality and caring manner. My fraternal relationship with Tom went far beyond Lawrence Tech. Shortly after graduation, Tom and I rented an apartment in Royal Oak until I married. Tom was one of the groomsmen at my wedding. One of my special memories of Tom was the weekend we spent up north at his family cottage on Long Lake near East Tawas. Tom was a person who really enjoyed the outdoors! I consider myself very fortunate to have known such a wonderful person as Tom.
